Computer Engineering graduate Murat Ikinci became CEO of Roketsan (June 2020).
Prof. Fazlı Can’s project on dynamically classifying text data streams on-the-fly received TÜBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) support as part of 2019/2 applications. The project aims to classify the fast arriving data streams from various Internet sources on-the-fly by using artificial neural networks and ensemble classifier. On-the-fly classification of data stream items is valuable to relevant systems, organizations and individuals for monitoring developments.
Prof. Dr. Altay Güvenir, Computer Engineering Department, received 2020 Bilkent University Distinguished Teaching Award.
Prof. Öztürk’s Project, called “Processor Design for Graph Applications” received TUBITAK 1001 program support. The project proposal was evaluated as part of 2019-II submissions. It will start in 2020.
Computer Engineering Faculty member Asst. Prof. Dr. Ercument Cicek is among the recipients of 2020 Science Academy Outstanding Young Scientist (BAGEP) Award.
In order to choose and reward the best young academics and to support them in conducting new studies, BAGEP award program was initiated in the year 2013. Scientists younger than 40 are eligible for the award. The award-winning young academics are granted 20,000 TL per year for a period of two years to support them in their research. The objective is to reward the most brilliant and promising young academics with a prestigious grant which will help them further their studies.
